THE REVELATION

SCENE 1

 ( A girl comes on stage dressed on red skirt, head tie, white top, she cries in with a flower, storms the stage and all light on her)

GIRL:

My lonely soul who will I tell these stories

I walked all the way from the unknown into the stream of lonliness

What more can I say

Will I liken myself to the seed of a farmer who went to farm to plant and on his way a seed fell on thorns and produced thorns?

(She kneels) tell me what else to do to make you know that my heart is lonely but now strong when I found the new way of life

(two people runs in with the same attire and they danced alittle like witches and leaves the the stage and she continues) this, this, I mean this with my little flower that gives me joy, but then I do hear this voice cry out day and night:

(She kneels and uses her hands to cover her ears then keeps moving her body from left to right when a thundrous voice of God speaks)

GOD:

Oh why, why have thou forsaken me? Why have thou taking that direction that is not good; for your sake I sent my only begotten son to die for you, but what do you pay in return? Wickedness, fornication, smoking, drinking, and all sort of things; though I paid a greater price for you, but I did not ask much from you, the only thing I ask for is for you to worship me in truth and in spirit, is that too much to ask from you? Can’t a father make a request to his children again?

O! My heart is bitter, my heart is bitter

Why do you keep crucifying my only begotten son by sinning? Have he not suffered enough for you

My anger is growing, but I am a merciful God; repent, for there is no repentance after death.

(She stands up)

Girl:

What voice is that, and what is he saying? I keep listening to that, what next, what next will my lonely soul do

(She runs out asking)

SCENE 2

(A politician with his supporters comes on stage, lots of hailing and praise names)

POLITICIAN:

I will make roads in all your homes, I will build schools, and pay the teachers to teach for free (he laughs) I will give everybody job employments and I will be giving everybody free farm lands;

People:

Yes oh DDP for life, you must win (The all freeze)

(a man querreling with his wife comes in)

Man:

Ah lady do you know that I am your husband? Leave me

WIFE:

Husband my foot, you are nothing but a woman, because I do everything a man suppose to do in this house (they freeze)

(two armrobbers comes in rejoicing about the money they stole)

Yaki:

We be badooski, you see this money we go carry am go give the poor

OBOSKI:

I go work finish go carry give poor person?  (They freeze)

(Two girls  comes in querreling)

 

 

Glorious:

Who do you think you are self? Because you are beautiful you think you can break all the relationships in this world, why don’t you get your man and forget about other peoples own?

Jane:

My dear shut up and go get a life (the freeze)

(the red cloth girl comes in wiith her flower basket, and while dancing she pours her flower first on the politician and he falls to death, then on the husband and wife and they fall to death, then on Yaki and finally on jane and they fall to death)

GIRL:

I forgot to tell you my name, my name is death, and I derive joy in snatching people away; am lonely because people run away from me (she laughs) but it is still fun, expecially those who are not in right standing with that man that calls himself the maker (she runs out)

(the sound of a trumpet sounds very loud and the politician, yaki, jane, Grace and Comfort comes in looking very confused, and stands one side, then there is a calmness and the thundrous voice  comes out again)

GOD:

Mr Ayomide come forth (the politician moves to the front) I gave you wealth, what did you do with it?

Politician:

I became the chairman of EFCC and I stopped robbery, then I became the governor of udogini, I made the roads good, I even gave all those police men 5 thousand naira each

GOD:

Mr Ayo, look at what is happening now (people enters on one side carrying the corps of MR Ayo)

Pastor:

Before I say anything, let MR Ayo’s son say something

 

 

Daniel:

(in tears) father you are wicked, you killed mother because of your wicked acts, you were busy making people outside happy while your family is suffering, I hate you

Pastor:

My Ayo was a good man, and I can see him in heaven sitted at the right hand of God singing Hossanna: may his soul rest in peace, we can now bury him (they moved out)

GOD:

Is his name in the book of life?

Voice : No my father

GOD:

Depart from me oh son of wickedness

(smoke comes out from from no where and voices plead for mercy and MR Ayo is taking away by the devil)

GOD:

MR and MRS Andrew come forth

(they both stepped forward one facing that side and the other facing the otherside)

Your family have never known peace, Mr Andrew, your work is to follow young girls all over and  MRS Andrew the fighter, you fight and make trouble every where; Depart from me, I know you not

(that same smoke and plead for mercy and the devil takes them  away)

Jane come forth

I gave you beauty what did you do with it?

JANE:

I – I actually em showed, lord please have mercy am sorry, am so sorry

 

 

GOD:

What is there to serve me? You led people astray, jumping from one guy to the other because of money, you even lie to get the money, you sleep with them to get the money, you even smoke, drink, you always want to have the reigning things, you can do anything to buy an expensive phone, hair, finger nails, makeup, cloths and name them; forgetting that you have some one you have to serve, the maker of your life; is her name in the book of life?

VOICE:

No my lord

GOD:

Depart from me for I know you not

(a smoke and the plead for mercy takes over and the devil takes her away)

Grace step forward: my faithful servant, tell me, I gave you love and what did you do with it?

GRACE:

(speaking in tongues) o father I loved everybody, both the young, the good and the bad

GOD: play her life for her

Papa Dorathy:

Grace, (she goes to me him)

Grace;

May the lord bless you

Papa Dorathy:

Grace abeg my landlord just come throw our things commot from house, I wan ask if I fit stay for you boys quarters

Grace:

You don’t need to ask you can

Papa Dorathy;

Thank you very much na God go bless you (he exit)

Grace;

Can you imagine,  this man that smokes, drink, his daughter follows men up and down and his son and wife, that one is another story wants to come and stay in my house so that he will corrupt my compound and when people come they will say am also a sinner, my bible says do not be unequally yoked with a sinner, my bible says, he walks in the counsel of the ungold is cursed, God as you haved revealed this to me, may your will be done, I will direct him to another place and not my house

GOD:

Is her name in the book of life?

VOICE:

For that singular act alone her name have been cancelled

GOD:

Depart from me;

(the devil takes her away) Comfort step forward

COMFORT:

Lord am sorry, I was a prostitude, I killed, I flirt, I was a  lesbian, I stole, I fornicated, name it, am sorry

GOD:

There is no repentance after death; is her name in the book of life?

Voice:

Comfort all we can see here is at the long run you surrendered your life to God, you won souls for him, you did your evangelism well, you walked whole heartedly in the vine yard of God; her name is in the book of life

(angels comes out and puts on her the crown of glory and a wait cloth and takes her away)

GOD:

Yaki what are you doing here?

 

Yaki:

I just saw myself here

GOD:

Yaki you were an armrobber

Yaki;

I stole from the rich to give the poor, the poor people are suffering

GOD:

Yaki you did it the wrong way, there is a mission you need to fulfill on earth, go back and preach the gospel to the people and tell them about me

(yaki leaves and coming in again he is preaching the gospel to people)
